The app
Atapa has no network code. It cannot send anything anywhere: no analytics, no crash reports, no update pings, no account. "Check for Updates" opens this website in your browser; the app itself never connects.
Your licence key is checked on your Mac against a public key built into the app. Nothing is sent to a server when you enter it.
Location is optional. If you allow it, Atapa asks macOS once for your position to place the sun exactly. It is used on your Mac and never leaves it. Without it, sunset comes from your time zone.
Statistics about your evenings (the ring) are computed and stored on your Mac. You can turn them off in Settings › Advanced.
This website
https://atapa.app uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies and does not identify you. There are no accounts on this site, no comment system and no newsletter.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which sees the request logs any host sees.
Buying
Checkout runs on Lemon Squeezy, the seller of record. It handles your payment details, your email and the receipt under its own privacy policy. We see your name, email and order number, which we need to send the key and to answer support email.
If you write to hello@atapa.app, we keep the thread only to reply to you. We do not add you to a list.
